| Matthew 7
 1 – 2

Do not judge other people, and you will not be judged. 2 You will be judged in the same way that you judge others. And the forgiveness you give to others will be given to you.

Do not hold these things against people! God has said that whatever seed you plant will grow back more than what you planted. You may think that you have not done anything by looking down on certain people but God will work things in your life to show you that you are no better than they are. You will see that you have done things that you never thought that you would do!

Walk softly and mind your own business! Do not ask for God to bring something on you because you asked for it by not controlling your mouth!

Do not laugh when your enemies fall; do not be happy when they stumble. For the LORD will be angry with you and will turn his anger away from them. Proverbs 24:17–18

 3 – 5

Why do you notice the little piece of dust that is in your brother’s eye, but you don’t notice the big piece of wood that is in your own eye? Why do you say to your brother, ‘Let me take that little piece of dust out of your eye’?

Look at yourself first! You still have that big piece of wood in your own eye. You are a hypocrite! First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly enough to take the dust out of your brother’s eye.

Correct the mistakes of your brother in the same way that you would like people to do for you, very carefully and with respect!

 6. Do not give holy things to dogs. Do not throw your pearls before pigs. Pigs will only trample on them. And the dogs will only turn to attack you.

Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will hate the wisdom of your words. Proverbs 23:9

 7 – 8

Continue to ask, and God will give to you. Continue to search, and you will find. Continue to knock, and the door will open for you. Yes, everyone who continues asking will receive. He who continues searching will find. And he who continues knocking will have the door opened for him.

First we are to ask. If there is no answer then we need to keep on knocking and reminding God of our prayer. There is also a place in prayer of looking for answers in the Word. Build your prayers on the Word and tell the Lord that you want His will in this thing. Praying a Scripture such as a Psalm has great power!

 9 – 11

What would you do if your son asks for bread? Which of you would give him a stone? Or if your son asks for a fish, would you give him a snake? Even though you are bad, you know how to give good gifts to your children. So surely your heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask him.

If one of us would help a child because he needs help then how much more will God help us when we ask? Do not forget to stop and ask! God will not give us things that are not good for us.

 12. Do for other people the same things you want them to do for you. This is the meaning of the law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets.

This is called the Golden rule. Only do to others the things that you would want them to do to you. If we would do this then the world would be closer to heaven than it is now.

 13 – 14

Enter through the narrow gate. The road that leads to hell is a very easy road. And the gate to hell is very wide. Many people enter through that gate. But the gate that opens the way to true life is very small. And the road to true life is very hard. Only a few people find that road.

Be careful of the things that everybody is doing. Our life is with Christ and we do not follow the crowd.

 15 – 16

Be careful of false prophets. They come to you and look gentle like sheep. But they are really dangerous like wolves. You will know these people because of the things they do. Good things do not come from bad people, just as grapes do not come from thornbushes. And figs do not come from thorny weeds.

Give people enough time and they will show you who they really are.

 17 – 20

In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit. And bad trees produce bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit. And a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. You will know these false prophets by what they produce.

Whatever is inside of you is what comes out. You can only hide the real you for a short time. If you keep Scriptures inside of you that is what will come out. You will be able to use old things that you have learned and new.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a homeowner who brings from his treasure new gems of truth as well as old. Matthew 13:52

 21 – 23

Not everyone who says ‘You are my Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. The only people who will enter the kingdom of heaven are those who do the things that my Father in heaven wants. On the last day many people will say to me, ‘You are our Lord! We spoke for you. And through you we sent out demons and did many miracles.’ Then I will tell them clearly, ‘Get away from me, you who do evil. I never knew you.’

We do not just know something about Jesus but we know Him and He knows us. Until you have believed in your heart that He is the Son of God who died to pay the penalty for your sin and came back from the dead to give you new life then you do not know Him you just know some things about Him.

 24 – 27

Everyone who hears these things I say and obeys them is like a wise man. The wise man built his house on rock. It rained hard and the water rose. The winds blew and hit that house. But the house did not fall, because the house was built on rock.
But the person who hears the things I teach and does not obey them is like a foolish man. The foolish man built his house on sand. It rained hard, the water rose, and the winds blew and hit that house. And the house fell with a big crash.”

Both houses had storms but only the one who was ready for the storm was still standing. Do you tell yourself that you have heard all these things before and you do not need to think about it? Are you ready for the storm or are you too busy to build a strong foundation in your family? His Words are waiting for you and will help you get ready for what is coming! Or maybe you think there is no storm coming???

 28 – 29

When Jesus finished saying these things, the people were amazed at his teaching. Jesus did not teach like their teachers of the law. He taught like a person who had authority.

These people built what they believed on what their teacher said. It is better to build what you believe on what the Bible says. We can speak with power if we speak the Words of God. When we speak our own words, nobody is listening.
