Revelation 6

1. Then I watched while the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. I heard one of the four living creatures speak with a voice like thunder. It said, “Go!”

This is the beginning of the seven years of God’s anger on the earth which is called the Tribulation. This chapter shows us the first three and one half years.

2. I looked and there before me was a white horse. The rider on the horse held a bow, and he was given a crown. And he rode out, defeating the enemy. He rode out to win the victory.

The first thing that happens is that the antichrist comes as a man of peace. He has a bow, but no arrows because he uses lies as weapons. Daniel shows us that the antichrist will make a peace treaty with Israel. Daniel 9:27

Do not be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed. The one who brings destruction. 2 Thessalonians 2:3

When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape.1 Thessalonians 5:2 – 3

Many will come in my name saying, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. Matthew 24:5

3 – 4

The Lamb opened the second seal. Then I heard the second living creature say, “Go!” Then another horse came out. This was a red horse. Its rider was given power to take away peace from the earth. He was given power to make people kill each other. And he was given a big sword.

He brings confusion and war. There will be a spirit of fear and not knowing what to do.

Men’s hearts failing them from fear and expecting those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Luke 21:26

5. The Lamb opened the third seal. Then I heard the third living creature say, “Go!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse. Its rider held a pair of scales in his hand.

There will be a famine so there is not enough food to feed the world. Matthew 24:7
The balances show that the government has control of the food supply. The
prices will be raised on food.

6. Then I heard something that sounded like a voice. It came from where the four living things were. The voice said, “A quart of wheat for a day’s pay. And three quarts of barley for a day’s pay. And do not damage the olive oil and wine!”

This shows us that the government and the money and all the systems of the world have suddenly stopped.
It will take one day’s work to earn just enough food for one person. There is plenty for the rich who surrender to the antichrist.

7 – 8

The Lamb opened the fourth seal. Then I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Go!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse. Its rider was named death. Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth. They were given power to kill people by war, by starving them, by disease, and by the wild animals of the earth.

There will be worldwide diseases like Ebola and COVID–19. One fourth of the world will die which means billions of people. Ezekiel 14:21

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6

9 – 11

The Lamb opened the fifth seal. Then I saw some souls under the altar. They were the souls of those who had been killed because they were faithful to God’s message and to the truth they had received.

These souls shouted in a loud voice, “Holy and true Lord, how long until you judge the people of the earth and punish them for killing us?”

Then each one of these souls was given a white robe. They were told to wait a short time longer. There were still some of their brothers in the service of Christ who must be killed as they were. They were told to wait until all of this killing was finished.

Those who are left behind after the rapture can only be saved if they give their lives to Christ and are killed by the antichrist. Matthew 24:9

12 – 13

Then I watched while the Lamb opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun became black like rough black cloth. The full moon became red like blood. The stars in the sky fell to the earth like figs falling from a fig tree when the wind blows.

Jesus warned us that there would be earthquakes in places where there had never been one before. This is already happening and there are more earthquakes now then at any time in history.

There will be earthquakes in unusual places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Mark 13:8

There are even signs in the sky today to cause men to start thinking that God is about to do something. The devil knows these things and has already started to create demonic signs in the sky which are called UFOs.

The prophets said that these things would happen. Joel 2:30–31, Luke 21:25,
Isaiah 13:10, Isaiah 34:4

14. The sky disappeared. It was rolled up like a scroll. And every mountain and island was moved from its place.

The atmosphere no longer protects the earth so there will an increase in meteors hitting the earth. This is life without God’s protection.

15. Then all people hid in caves and behind the rocks on the mountains. There were the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the rich people and the powerful people. Everyone, slave and free, hid himself.

All different kinds of people are hiding together, even the leaders of the antichrist army! They now know that this is the actual end of the world

16 – 17

They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us. Hide us from the face of the One who sits on the throne. Hide us from the anger of the Lamb! The great day for their anger has come. Who can stand against it?”

They would rather die than serve Christ. If there was no rapture and Christians were on the earth at this time, they would be crying out for Jesus to help them instead of hiding in the rocks. God says that even at this point He would forgive them if they asked.

Yet even now, says the LORD, return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping and mourning. Joel 2:12, Hosea 10:8
